Jim McCauley started riding motocross at the tender age of 15. He regularly competed in races as a teenager, and continues to this day.

Jim can be seen participating in Nevada desert races, as well as the Best In The Desert racing series. He's had the fastest times in autocross many times, and has had the opportunity to test his skills in many industry-sponsored Ride And Drives.

Jim also enjoys taking 4x4s through mud, snow, sand and rocks. In truth, Jim says that he enjoys all forms of driving and competition.

At 46 years of age, Jim McCauley has learned the difference between confident and cocky. After all, as he says, “racing at speeds over 100 mph in constantly changing terrain, you must be confident or you will get hurt.”

But it doesn’t go to Jim’s head. At this year’s U.S. Regionals, Jim was “humbled by the intelligence and talent of all the drivers that were selected.” And when he advanced to the Off-Road Camp in Germany, it was like “a dream come true.”

Jim believes that racing brings out the best in every driver and he’s looking forward to the competition in Germany. And if his team should win, he’s got the perfect plan: “to sample some famous German food and beverage, overlooking a green valley and toasting our friends and competitors.”
