“I am excited. Qualifying on the race track was certainly fun, but the off-road camp was almost better for me personally. I might be the oldest participant, but it doesn’t concern me. I am getting ready for the U.S. with a fitness program. And my hobbies keep me fit anyway. I feel quite confident. We certainly won’t be last. For my whole life, I have wanted to take part in something like the Paris-Dakar rally. The final in the Dunlop Drivers Cup is something like fulfilling this old dream. I think the team spirit will be decisive in the U.S.” |

| Statement: |
“The qualifying rounds were super, but participating in the finals is simply great. I’m crazy about motor sports – therefore this adventure is the second great experience for me after the victory in the Germany mountain championship 30 years ago. How I place in the U.S. is almost unimportant to me. However, the tour, with adventure, fun, and hopefully a great deal of comradeship – that is an experience that I am really looking forward to.” |
