April 14-24, Dunlop Drivers Cup World Finals
The Drivers Cup World Finals is a 10-day event where the winning drivers from the U.S. Regionals join an international field for a competition to crown the world's top non-professional drivers. Each competitor participates in a number of different driving events.

The Route
Beginning at the Dunlop factory in Hanau, the competitors took the night train to Narbonne in southern France. From there they crossed the Pyrenees to Spain and Lleida, Zarragoza, Segovia, Sierra de Gredos, Extremadura, Guadalupe, Cordoba and Andalusia. After 10 days, the competition ended with the Finals at the Ascari race track in Ronda, Spain.
Total length of the trip was about 3200 kilometers, crossing 14 lines of latitude.
The Local Details
It was springtime in Europe, with conditions ranging from windy cold to summery days with temperatures up to 25C.
While most of the competitors spoke either German or English, they were confronted with localities that spoke primarily French and Spanish.
