Dunlop Drivers Cup Finals Update #1: Off And Running
The first competitive event of the Dunlop Drivers Cup World Finals is over, and the U.S. teams roared out of the gate! This year's competition began at the famed Hockenheim circuit in Germany. Marshals rode in-car with the competitors and evaluated the drivers in three basic areas:
- Shifting and braking
- Driving line (approach and exit to each of the seven major turns)
- Speed relative to smooth coordination of acceleration, braking and gear selection
Team USA I and Team USA II tied for FIRST position at the end of the event, while Team USA III placed a strong 5th. "I'm most looking forward to the Hockenheim Ring because the track has so much history." Kevin, Team USA II. "I felt like the king of the world when I got equal first at the Hockenheim Ring." Lee, Team USA II
