Kurt Gibson
Team #12 — Flying Blind (Porsche Panorama)
When he was 7 years old, Kurt Gibson's dad put his son on his lap and let him "drive" the family's 1963 Renault Dauphine. After that, Kurt was hooked. Kurt has been lucky enough to drive all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America and through parts of Europe. One of his most memorable driving experiences includes a rainy 2,200-mile road tour of Scotland, sharing a delightfully narrow road with a lot of sheep. Of course, Kurt says that he's happy driving "anywhere." Kurt also likes to work on cars. One time, he rebuilt an air-cooled 911 engine and he says that "it didn't leak oil ... much." His favorite tool in the garage is the torque wrench because that means "I'm almost finished." When he drives, Kurt tries to be smooth and precise. He believes that it'll take "steely nerves and talent" to win the Dunlop Drivers Cup competitions. It's a good thing he has a lot of both. |
