Phil Challinor
Team #2 — East West Racing
Although he wasn't even tall enough to reach the peddles, Phil Challinor drove for the first time when he was 6 years old. His dad handled the gas and brake, and Phil jokes that he "aimed for the mailboxes." As Phil grew, so did his passion for racing and motorsports. In high school, he was a member of a super-late-model stock car race team. After that, he became a Motorcycle Safety Instructor. He's also driven at Willow Springs International Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta, as well as attended several kart racing schools. An important attribute that Phil brings to the table is his ability to learn and respond quickly. As a professional firefighter and paramedic, this comes naturally to Phil, and will come in handy as his team switches between vehicles and track conditions. Phil feels humbled and proud to be selected as a finalist for the U.S. Regionals. In his words, "it's a once in a lifetime opportunity." |
