I’m already missing my co-drivers. You see, I’ve never driven the wet skid pad at Tire Rack, but I remembered that the SP Sport Maxx tires really stuck last year. They did again, and I was missing my former friends less so. Next up was South Bend Speedway and some oval track driving. Fortunately, Broder was there and I asked for some help on the oval. He told me to stay left and not go right, or it would be unfortunate. I’m a good listener.
The Benz was running well. I’d finish with an event and it was ready for the open road. The supercharger was breathing well and the Dunlops hugged the road. It was great feeling such control at the track and on the highway. Ah, the passion of driving. The exhiliration and acceleration of driving the autobahn.
Oh, wait, I’m not in Germany, but I’m thinking of a highway without limits. Speed limits, that is. Actually, I’m at Autobahn Country Club a nice facility with really hot Ferraris and Bentleys. It’s my first time here, and everything went unusually well. The next leg is about 400 miles, and it’s raining. Doesn’t matter though, not with these Sport Maxx tires. I should arrive at Mid-American Motorplex by 2 a.m.
That’s until another law enforcement officer wanted a closer look at the Benz. Can’t say that I blame him, but flashing lights and unmarked cars scare me. He was a nice fellow and told me to be careful driving in the rain. That’s OK, I was ready to call it a night and get some shut-eye. I need some rest before a long drive tomorrow, about 1,000 miles.
